This is a 9"x12" original gouache painting on Arches coldpress paper.
My mom was visiting, and we roamed around a garden store to find some inspirational subjects. These black-eyed susans were so gorgeous and full! The colors drew me in, with the dark bluish/purple centers. It was tricky painting them, especially in the heat, but I enjoyed the graphic nature of the piece.
